Drop a pin, choose your date, water type and target species, and FlyFishIntel prepares a personalised fishing brief. You’ll find conditions to plan around, suggested tactics, and ideas for the tackle and flies to take.
We currently cover the UK and the whole of Ireland, including nearby coastal waters. You can read your brief on screen, have a copy emailed to you, and choose an updated brief before your trip.

FlyFishIntel is shaped by the fishing knowledge behind Barbless Flies: customer feedback and fishing experience, aggregated buying trends, and the advice shared in our blog posts and books.
That knowledge helps us understand the questions anglers ask, the tackle and flies they choose, and the practical advice they value. It informs how we develop FlyFishIntel and present useful guidance for a day on the water.
How it comes together
Each brief is prepared for your chosen trip, bringing together geographic context, seasonal fishing guidance and available weather information. For river and coastal trips, we include public river-level readings or tide information where available, with sources and planning notes alongside the advice.
Use it to prepare, then fine-tune your approach to what you see on the day. Local access, permissions, fishing rules and conditions still matter.
